Raw Materials Division (RMD), the controlling unit of captive mines of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), invites applications from eligible persons for the following posts for posting in its various mines as detailed below:

Application Fee: Rs. 500/- for Medical Officer Post; Rs. 150/- for Mining Mate Post; Rs. 250/- for all other posts. No fee for SC / ST / PWD / ESM candidates. (see in official notification)
SAIL Jobs Candidates Selection process: For the post of Medical Officer, the mode of selection shall be through written examination and interview. Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the Written examination. Candidates short listed on the basis of their performance in the Written examination will be required to appear in the Interview in order of merit, in the ratio of 1:3, post-wise. Weightage of marks for written examination and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
For the post of Operator cum Technician (Trainee), Mining Foreman, Surveyor (Mines), Mining Mate and Paramedical Staff, the mode of selection shall be through Written examination and Skill Test / Trade Test. Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the Written examination. Candidates short listed on the basis of their performance in the Written examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test / Trade Test in order of merit, in the ratio of 1:3, for each post. Weightage for selection would be 100% based on the marks obtained in the Written examination. Skill Test / Trade Test will be of qualifying nature.
For the post of Junior Assistant (Trainee), mode of selection shall be as under: Stage I – Written Test (Multiple Choice Questions) on General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Stage II – Skill Test / Trade Test (for candidates short listed after the Written Test in order of merit in the ratio of 1:3, post-wise):
- Computer Skill Test on MS Office Package
- Typing Test on PC (in English) at speed of 40 w.p.m and 36 w.p.m for General category & reserved category respectively and
- Short hand Test at speed of 80 p.m and 72 w.p.m for General category & reserved category respectively
NOTE : Weightage for selection would be 100% based on the marks obtained in the Written examination. Skill Test/Trade Test will be of qualifying nature.
